Dr. Edward J. Wladis is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at Albany Medical College, where he leads the Lions Eye Institute. A graduate of Columbia University (BA, Neuroscience, cum laude, 1997) and the State University of New York Upstate Medical University (MD, 2001), Dr. Wladis completed his ophthalmology residency at New Jersey Medical School and pursued dual fellowship training β in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Neuro-Ophthalmology at the University of Vermont, followed by Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the prestigious Scheie Eye Institute, University of Pennsylvania. Since joining Albany Medical College as faculty in 2008, Dr. Wladis has risen to lead the Department of Ophthalmology as Professor and Chairman. He is the Fellowship Director for Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery through the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) and has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters in leading journals including Ophthalmology, JAMA Ophthalmology, and Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Wladis has received numerous honors, including the Senior Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology (2022), the Merrill Reeh Eye Pathology Award from ASOPRS (2018), and recognition as one of America's Best Doctors by Castle Connolly (2015βpresent). He is a sought-after lecturer at national and international meetings and has presented invited grand rounds at institutions including the University of Pennsylvania Scheie Eye Institute and the University of Vermont.

Dr. Meyer is Director of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery at the Lions Eye Institute and Professor of Ophthalmology at Albany Medical College. A graduate of the University of Virginia and the University of Maryland School of Medicine, he completed fellowship training at West Virginia University and the Casey Eye Institute at Oregon Health Sciences University, and has been on faculty at Albany Medical College since 1990.

Michael I. Rothschild, MD
Dr. Rothschild joined Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery, PLLC in 2022. A graduate of Bowdoin College and Emory University School of Medicine, he completed his ophthalmology residency at NYU Langone Medical Center and his ASOPRS-accredited fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Lions Eye Institute, Albany Medical College. He is a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
